GLAND LITE · PRIVACY & LEGAL
Privacy policy
Understand what stays on your device, what connected services use, and how to manage your GLand Lite data.
About this policy
This policy covers GPS Area Measure - GLand Lite and this GLand Lite website. For privacy questions or help with your data, contact the GLand Lite team at glandmeasure@gmail.com.
The app uses connected services for maps, sign-in, optional cloud backups, shared measurement links, advertising, and purchases. Their data practices also apply when you use those features; links are provided below.
Measurements and files on your device
Saved projects, folders, coordinates, measurement results, notes, form answers, photos, and map snapshots are stored on your device. You can edit, delete, export, or share saved items. Exporting or sharing sends the files to the destination you choose; those copies are then outside the app’s storage controls.
Signing in does not automatically upload your measurements or parcel photos. The experimental Auto trace parcel helper analyzes the visible map image on your device; it does not upload that image to an analysis service.
Google or Apple sign-in
Firebase Authentication manages your account and session. We store your account identifier and available profile information, such as name, email, profile photo URL, sign-in provider, and account/sign-in timestamps, in Firebase services. These records support sign-in, your profile, cloud backup ownership, and account requests.
Apple may provide a private relay email address when you choose Hide My Email. Signing out ends your session on that device; it does not delete your account, cloud data, or local measurements.
Optional cloud backups
When you choose to back up, saved project data—including precise coordinates, measurement results, notes, forms, and images—is uploaded to Firebase Storage for the account shown on the backup screen. Backup records also contain information such as creation time and project, measurement, and photo counts. Photos may retain their original metadata.
The app keeps the latest 10 cloud backups per account, removing older snapshots when you back up or refresh the list. You can view and delete existing backups even after Premium expires. Deleting a local item does not remove it from an older backup; deleting a cloud backup does not erase local measurements.
Device permissions
Permissions support the feature you choose. You can review or change them in your device settings or open those settings from the app’s Privacy and legal page.
- Location: used when finding your current position or adding GPS points. You can select points manually on the map without location permission.
- Camera: used to take a photo that you choose to attach to a measurement.
- Photos and files: used to select attachments, import measurements, or save exports. Attached photos are included if you later back up their project data.
Maps and other connected features
Google Maps loads map imagery and related data over the internet. Place search can send your search text and a nearby position to the device’s search provider, including Apple MapKit on iOS. Optional map layers and terrain features request tiles or areas from their providers; a custom layer uses the provider URL you select.
When you open a shared measurement on this website, your browser loads map tiles directly from Google Maps. These requests reveal the viewed map area, your IP address, and browser request information to Google. The referring address sent with tile requests identifies only the GLand Lite website’s origin, not the shared link’s unique identifier, title, description, or full URL. The parcel boundary is drawn in your browser and is not uploaded to Google as a measurement record.
Providers receive information needed for those requests, which may include the viewed area, device information, and IP address. Their privacy policies govern their own handling of that information. Choosing a custom map provider also means choosing where those map requests are sent.
Advertising and analytics
The free app can show Google AdMob ads. Advertising services may process device identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, ad interactions, usage, and diagnostic information to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Available consent and advertising privacy choices can be reviewed from Privacy and legal; choices depend on your region and device.
New releases enable Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and measure advertising results. This includes screen and feature interactions, the first saved measurement, Premium subscription activity, and the app/device information and identifiers collected by the SDK. Analytics data may be used with Google Ads for conversion reporting and attribution. The app’s custom events do not include measurement coordinates, measurement names or descriptions, photos, contact details, or purchase receipts and tokens.
Analytics ad personalization is off by default, and the iOS Analytics SDK does not include IDFA support. Available consent choices depend on your region and device and can be reviewed from Privacy and legal, including for Premium users. Crashlytics collection remains off by default. Analytics settings do not disable the separate data processing used by maps or advertising services.
Premium purchases
Google Play or Apple handles payment and billing. GLand Lite does not receive your full payment card or bank details. The app checks purchase status to provide Premium access and stores an access status on your device.
The current Android app checks and acknowledges purchases through Google Play Billing on your device, without sending purchase tokens to a GLand Lite verification server. It stores the latest access status and check time on your device. On iOS, the app verifies transactions using Apple StoreKit on the device. The stores maintain their own transaction records under their policies.
Older Android app versions may still send a purchase token and product details to the legacy GLand Lite verification service. That service checks with Google Play and retains a hash of the token and verified subscription status and dates, without storing the raw token or linking the records to a GLand Lite account. Updating the app does not itself delete existing legacy verification records.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local measurements remain until you remove them or clear the app’s data. Account and cloud data remain associated with your account until deleted; cloud snapshots are also subject to the 10-backup retention process above. Provider logs and store records follow the providers’ own retention policies.
You can request account deletion in the app or by email using our account deletion page. The team manually processes requests within 30 days of receipt and confirms completion. The request covers your GLand Lite account, profile, and cloud backups. Store purchase verification is separate from your GLand Lite account. It does not remotely erase local measurements, delete copies you shared, delete your Google or Apple account, or cancel store subscriptions.
For an in-app request, explicitly signing in again cancels a request only while it is still pending and the cancellation is confirmed. A request already being processed cannot be canceled that way. To withdraw a request sent by email, contact the team directly; signing in does not automatically withdraw an email request.
Contact us for help accessing, correcting, or deleting account data. We may need to verify account ownership. Do not send passwords, verification codes, or payment details.
This website and support email
On shared measurement pages, My location requests your position only when you press the button and your browser allows access. Your position and accuracy are used to centre the map and display a marker, kept only in the page’s memory, and cleared when you reload or leave the page. They are not added to the shared measurement or sent to GLand Lite’s backend. This is a one-time lookup, not continuous tracking. Viewing map tiles around your position reveals that viewed area to the map provider as described above.
This website currently uses no analytics or advertising scripts. The deletion email helper builds a draft in your browser; it does not submit your account details to a website backend. Opening a draft is not a submitted request—you must send it from your email app. The site does not save the entered details to its own persistent browser storage.
The hosting provider may process normal request information such as IP address, requested page, and browser details to deliver and protect the site. If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message, and the team uses your address and the information you send to respond, verify ownership when needed, and handle your request.
Contact and updates
We will update this page when the described practices change. The date above identifies this version. For questions about this policy or your data, email the GLand Lite team.
